LAURA PAULINE "PAULA" BRINKLEY, 52, died on Thursday, March 24, 2005. Paula was born to Robert N. and Jane Murphy Garrett in Houston on July 20, 1952. She was a 1970 honors graduate of Waltrip High School. She was Executive Vice-President and Secretary for Southern Custom, Inc. Paula is preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her husband of 23 years, David C. Brinkley; children, Cody Alan Brinkley and Sarah Jane Brinkley; mother, Jane Sheppard; brother, Robert N. Garrett, III and his wife Janice; nephew Jeff Garrett; step-daughters, Christina Marie Brinkley and Angela Michelle Brinkley; and grandson, Nicholas Brinkley. A Memorial Service celebrating Paula's life will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2005 at 11 o'clock in the morning in the Sanctuary of Chapelwood United Methodist Church, 11140 Greenbay, with Rev. Jim Jackson officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Girls Scouts of San Jacinto Council, 3110 Southwest Freeway, Houston, Texas 77098 or to a charity of choice.
