I remember Scott Spradlin as one of the sweetest and kindest people I ever knew. He was a really big fellow back when I knew him. We had lost contact through the years, and it has been a "lotta" years!! And he had a heart that was big as he
was - Texas-sized!! He will be missed by all his family and friends.

He was truly a big hearted guy and and "old soul" as they say. He spoke with wonderful compliment of his parents being educators and crediting them with his love of education. Scott was brilliant and I was not surprised he was able to turn it into a full array of successful interest, from political to artistic. We were good friends in high school. What it joy it was for me to see him "connect" with Paula, another good friend. She and I laughed and "plotted" in drama class for 3 years. I met Jacob as a little boy when they visited us in Houston.

Paula and I kept up with each other with letters and phone calls as they traveled the world, his working with Exxon. I actually talked to her in the Falklands, shocked because I never knew anyone who lived in the Falklands. She said it was dark alot but she managed to make even the Falklands and fun place to be with all of her projects.

We were to meet in New Orleans for lunch but illness stopped her on the day we were to meet. We kept in touch on their next post and move around the world.

I met Jacob as an adult at an event for TKE as my husband and I were in attendance. It was so fun to look at him and see Paula in his face and Scott in his manner. I never did meet Megan though Paula sent pictures.

Jacob brought Scott and Paula great joy and Megan brought joy and a renewal to their hope in life.

Scott and I emailed after he lost Paula. I was happy to know he found a lady to help fill the sadness he felt.

I love the picture chosen for his obituary. He looks calm, introspective and forward looking.
