I fumbled around in Houston till 1974. I was a machinist, of all things, at Dresser Air Tool and decided that it was no place for a lady or for me
either. So I got my tax refund and loaded my 1970 VW square back up and moved to Austin to attend UT. I eventually graduated with a BS in Communications. No, that isn't a joke. Shortly after I graduated, I married and incredibly handsome man and had two amazing kids. I considered it a privilege to raise them. These kids are my best accomplishment. The marriage, not so much.
Life in Austin has always been interesting and fun. Since we live near downtown and Zilker Park and Barton Creek, we have had the full Austin exerience. Lucky us! My son is talented musician and all that goes with it and my daughter is soon to be a junior at UT. She is studying in London at the moment.
I can't say I miss Houston, but I think of you all at Waltrip from time to time and wonder how everyone is doing. I am sad to that Sonny Spears, Eddie Reagan and Christy and Cathy have left us. so many gone already...
