Terry Lee (Rosing)

I've tried to come up with the right words to post about Drew and I'm pretty much at a loss. We reconnected at our 20 yr. reunion and as of his death on December 10, 2000 he was and is my best male friend. Drew was so far ahead of his time. His outlook on life was far greater than the confines of this physical world. He took me to my first Georgia O'Keefe exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts back in the mid 90's and literally had to pry me away. I loved his artistic mind and learned so much from him.

He lived up near Lake Travis and had converted his garage to his workshop. He melted, molded and polished metal into beautiful abstract doors, boxes, wall-hangings that were displayed in galleries all across the country. After his death, his dad gave me a small wall hanging entitled Serenity and a bronze free-standing piece (Conquest) he had made while at Waltrip. Both pieces sit in my family room today.

Drew sat behind me in homeroom at Waltrip for 3 years. I was the last person alphabetically in Mrs. Koster's homeroom, so when he transferred over a couple of days after school had started, Mrs. Koster just told him to take the seat behind me. So for 3 yrs. Drew LAzarine sat behind Terry LEe. The night of our graduation at the Coliseum, we still sat next to each other only this time he sat ahead of me. We held hands during the entire graduation cermony, somehow knowing our paths were about to part. He was that kind of friend...that kind of guy.

To this day I miss his physical presence, however, I feel he is never far away...
