Eddie has been a friend of mine since we were both about 10 years old and we played Little League baseball together. Both of us attended the same elementry and junior high school together. When it became time to start high school my family moved to the Oak Forest area and coincidentally Eddie's family did the same thing. I did not know a single person that first day at Waltrip .  I was feeling very lonely untill I saw Eddie and realized I had at  least one friend with me that  first day.  Eddie became one of my best friends  all through high school and we usually hung out together doing all the fun things that teenagers do.

I lost track of Eddie after high school untill 1980 when I found out he was working in the same industry as me and our friendship renewed itself.  By then Eddie had been married and divorced but  he had a daughter that he was raising  by himself.  I have never seen a better dad than Eddie was with that little girl.  Eddie did every thing he could to make sure that she was raised right and he gained a new found respect from me because of this comittment he had made to her.

The last time I saw Eddie was at the Waltrip 15year reunion and I enjoyed re living old times with him. It was not too long after that that one of his co workers notified that Eddie had passed away.  I miss Eddie but it makes me feel good that I can say that Eddie was my friend and I was his.

Eddie was a fun guy.  I think that he lost his life due to another person being drunk and killing him near Northwest Mall area.
