Vickie, what a sweet person.  I am so sad to see that you are not with us.  What happened?

I remember her face well and remember her smile. She was a very nice person. It is so sad she left so soon. I pray she had a full and happy life.

Vickie Vilven was a wonderful friend.  She passed away after giving birth from toxemia.  Died too young.  She is greatly missed.

Vickie was a friend and neighbor, we grew up 4 houses apart, skated at Tradewinds on Friday evenings, went to movies and had lots of fun during the summers, swimming and riding our bikes. Her mother and mine still live in the same neighborhood and play cards and dominos with a group of neighbor ladies. I see her often and had the chance to meet Vickie's daughter a couple of years ago when she was in Houston visiting Bitsy(Mrs. Vilven). She ask me to tell her about her Mom and I was so sorry I could only tell her stories from our early teens. She is a pretty young lady and looks a lot like Vickie.

Vickie's parents and mine grew up together and had businesses down the street from each other.  Vickie and I both worked for our parents after we graduated from high school.  She would come to our store and visit with me from time to time.  I remember when she was pregnant with the second child, she was so excited.  She knew there was a risk but was willing to take it.   I was heart broken when I read her obit.  It was a very sad funeral and I remember it to this day.  Her children were robbed of a beautiful caring mother much to early.

We lost Vickie in 1986. I recently talked to her Mom who is still living on Brian Haven in Oak Forest. Vicki was such a dear friend, I still miss her dearly.

Someone asked who Vickie married. She married at 19 to Jerry Bates (24) in Houston. He had a brother that graduated with us RObert Bates.

I remember Vickie from early days in school. She was always so sweet and yes she had an infectious smile! Really good person.
