Sonny died in 1976 in the Houston area. I will for ever miss his insane sense of humor and his love of music. He moved to California with his mom (Eloise) for awhile, but his friends kept calling him back to Houston. Eloise had me speak at his funeral. It was the hardest job I ever attempted. Paula and I named our first born after him.
I knew Sonny before he was a class mate at Waltrip. He was so full of life, fun and funny to be around. I think of him often. Such a talented person.... passed away from this earth too soon.
